Dan and Becs
After leaving school Dan trained as an outdoor instructor and then proceeded to work at summer camps for the YMCA working with youth in New Zealand and Canada. Dan became a Christian in 2002. One day a friend of his introduced him to someone that help lead SFC. Dan was very excited and quickly got involved and have been leading and running SFC for the last 4 years.
Becs did eight back to back seasons as an instructor in Canada, US, Australia and New Zealand. Through this she learned how hard it is to be a Christian living in a mountain town, so was stoked when she discovered the Lighthouse Church in Mammoth, California. The Lighthouse church is centred on the ski/snowboard community with outreach and church in the evenings. Becs stories from home were the start of what led to The Lighthouse planting a church in Wanaka, New Zealand.
SInce returning to New Zealand in 2004, Becs has been involved with Snowboarders for Christ, Wellington taking high school kids up to Ruapehu. Becs and Dan met in 2005 when Dan joined SFC. Becs and Dan have been married and heading up SFC, Wellington since 2006.
Trevor
From Vancouver Island, West Coast, Canada. I'm passionate about snowboarding and Jesus and finding a way to make the two work in harmony.
About 3 years ago while I was starting a discipleship training program, I got a word from God to start looking for and preparing for a snowboard outreach ministry.
I came across a Snowboarders For Christ website and figured it would be perfect and after a long 3 years later mostly spent working on an oyster farm I am in New Zealand for my first time helping start up The Barn and living the life God put me on this earth for.
Amanda
I'm back for another season on the New Zealand slopes and stoked to be helping out with The Barn. I've been involved with a snowboarders DTS in Oxford, New Zealand through YWAM and been a leader with SFC Calgary and I've also seen other nooks of the world while doing humanitarian relief.
Through building my relationship with my Father God, my love for riding has allowed me to meet amazing people, travel the world and reigure out my passions. I'm stoked to meet you all.
